Neighbourhood Album Covers

an album cover for each community that make up the city of surrey, bc

Blending Music and Community to create interactive installations for the City of Surrey’s Let’s Hear it BC JUNOs Plaza Party.

We began with consulting a Designer or Artist from each community to understand each neighbourhood better. We discussed meaningful locations and moments, and those conversations provided ingredients for each artwork. The featured communities are Central City, Whalley, Fleetwood, Guildford, Newton, South Surrey, and Cloverdale.

Each of these graphics were place on top of a 4 foot by 4 foot mirror, allowing guests to walk up and take a selfie with the artwork; creating their own album cover for each neighbourhood.
